Building specialized forging and machining capacity for aerospace and high value manufacturing

We are expanding our manufactured capital through high-value projects across Baramati and Pune. We are also investing to build new forging & machining capacity for Aerospace, Data centre’s energy systems and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Investments in Ring mill, Forging and machining assets at Baramati, are expected to handle specialty alloys for Aerospace Forging, Large engine components to support Back-up power generators for data centres and forged components for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Designed as fungible capacities, these capabilities will establish us as a supplier of complex Forgings for highly critical assignments.

Deepening defense, and product-led manufacturing

We are strengthening vertically integrated defense manufacturing capabilities across large-caliber ordnance, small arms, Artillery, Naval and Unmanned autonomous vehicles.

76 mm to 155 mm consumables capability

Supported by vertically integrated manufacturing for large-caliber defense systems

Manufacturer of Barrels and Turrets

Capability to supply full machined Artillery Barrels and Turrets, opening significant new business as well as replacement opportunities

Our India manufacturing excellence (includes India subsidiaries)

Scaling adjacent platforms and increasing Content per customer

JS Autocast is expanding casting capacity, with a focus on the medium-weight segment. Investments in machining will lead to more in-house value capture. We have seen tangible wallet share gains by combining Forgings and Castings solutions to some of our leading customers.

The acquisition of K Drive Mobility has added manufacturing facilities and engineering know-how for LCV, SUV, Buses and E-LCV axles.

Going ahead our focus on engineered, high value products will significantly alter the product mix of Bharat Forge’s India business.

₹1,000 crore planned capex for India operations over FY2027

Planned over 12-15 months across Forging, Casting, Products platforms and Explosives with a focus on high-value engineered products and complex components

Capturing more value in explosives manufacturing

With an aim to increase our value-add and forward integrate, our step-down subsidiary, Agneyastra Energetics, acquired land for an integrated campus in Andhra Pradesh to manufacture advanced ammunition, propellants and high-safety testing infrastructure.

What’s next

  • The near-term outlook remains strong driven by growth in Aerospace business, supply of engine components to back up power generators for data centres
  • New Aerospace Forging capacity to become fully operational in FY2028. The recent order wins for Engine components, Landing Gear Systems and Aircraft structural parts from marquee names like Rolls Royce, Liebherr Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney Canada offer a steady growth pipeline
  • Bharat Forge became the 1st supplier to Embraer from India. Engagement to commence with supply of Landing Gear components
  • New initiatives for high value components supply to large Generators supporting data centres
  • Scale up of Axle Products portfolio with focus on LCV, SUVs, buses and E-mobility platforms
  • JS Autocast to be the anchor platform for all Ferrous Casting related activities of Bharat Forge Group. Recent fund raiser will drive capacity expansion on the Foundry and Machining side. In addition to small castings, JS Autocast is building competency to venture in the medium weight category as well
  • New capex program across the organization and its Indian subsidiaries will drive growth in high-value complex components as well as set the stage for roll-out of more products/ platforms
