Mr. Amit B. Kalyani

Vice-Chairman & Joint Managing Director

Mr. Amit Kalyani is the Deputy Managing Director at Bharat Forge Limited, a part of the Pune based Kalyani Group. The Kalyani group operates in the sectors of specialty steel, hi-tech metallurgical manufacturing, automotive components and infrastructure along with specialty chemicals. Bharat Forge Ltd has a revenue of 1.4 billion dollars with a transcontinental presence across ten manufacturing locations, serving marquee clienteles across automotive, oil and gas, aerospace, defense, construction and mining sectors globally.

The Kalyani Group with revenues of approximately 3 billion dollars and a global marquee customer base was founded in 1966 by Amit’s grandfather, the late Dr. N.A. Kalyani. Currently, Amit’s father Mr. B.N. Kalyani is the Chairman of the Kalyani Group. Amit is a third generation member of the business.

Mr. Amit Kalyani has been involved with driving the group’s strategy and in the execution of its diversification over the past decade. He is also responsible for finance and M&A. His key focus now is on nurturing talent and developing new skills within the organization, strategizing and driving growth in new areas and products.

Mr. Amit Kalyani is a member on the board of various group companies like Bharat Forge Limited and Kalyani Steels Ltd to name a few and also chairs board meetings of BF Investment Ltd and Kalyani Investment Company Ltd. He has been a part of many committees of the Government of India on manufacturing, education, skill development and bilateral relations. He is also on the advisory board of Capgemini, India & serves as an Independent Director on the board of Schaeffler India Ltd.

Mr. Kalyani has been working with Bharat Forge since 1999, starting his career with manufacturing and moving on to IT and Finance and has been the group’s Executive Director since May 2004. Mr. Kalyani holds a BE degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. He is also a Harvard Business School OPM graduate and a YPO member. He is extremely passionate about manufacturing and technology and regularly participates in the World Economic Forum, Davos.

Amit has a special interest in CSR projects and philanthropy. He strongly believes in giving back to society and uses his personal time and resources in projects related to education and healthcare. He especially loves to spend time with youths to guide and mentor them. It invigorates him and helps him with his ideations. Amit and his wife Deeksha founded The Kalyani School in 2015, which is a not for profit institution which provides high quality, modern education to K12 students.

Amit is a family man and loves spending time with his three children, wife and parents.
