By establishing the 'Pratham Pune Education Foundation'(PPEF), Bharat Forge began the challenging task of making primary education accessible to the less fortunate. Over the past 16 years, since its inception, PPEF has touched the lives of over 150,000 children in Pune and has become an important catalyst for women empowerment.
Pratham works with an objective to develop the educational skills of the children belonging to the most underprivileged section of the community, to clear basic concepts of Mathematics, Science, English & Marathi to help them learn with fun & therefore motivate them for further education.
Katalyst Foundation supports girl students who aspire to study in the Engineering stream. Bharat Forge has sponsored 5 Engineering Girl Students of COEP & VIT, Pune via Katalyst.
A project by K. C. Mahindra Education Trust (KCMET), this project aims to provide primary education to underprivileged girl children in India, which in long term will not only support the economy, but will also, help combat social evils like gender inequality, child marriage, dowry system, domestic violence, etc. Bharat Forge supports 108 Nanhi Kalis from KCMET with realization that the girl child, more often than not, is side-lined to some extent and has a disadvantaged access to quality education & material support.
Vidyarthi Sahayak Samitee:
Bharat Forge has sponsored 10 engineering girl students from Vidyarthi Sahayak Samitee and provides them with necessary mentorship.
Bharat Forge has started a joint initiative with Pratham & Jnana Prabodhini called 'Pradnya Vikas'.
The objective of Pradnya Vikas is:
To conduct personality & leadership development program in underprivileged areas of Pune City
To develop scientific attitude among them through informal activities.
It is noticed that in the urban slum communities, both the parents go to work on daily wage basis, and the children wander after school hours. Khelghar is started with an objective to encourage the creative aptitude of such children and also to enhance their academic performance.
Bharat Forge has started Khelghar in 2 communities- Keshavnagar & Hadapsar with the association of Palakneeti Pariwar, Pune. This initiative aims to develop children from deprived section of society helping them in personal grooming and developing creativity skills, imparting awareness regarding various social, education, health, etc.
