Global Aerospace, Defence, and Security leader Safran, and India’ s leading high technology components company, Bharat Forge, announce the start of a long-term partnership to supply critical high integrity forged and machined components, for commercial aircr aft applications to Safran’ s global affiliates. The first step of this partnership is a Purchase Order issued today by Safran.
Over the past 18 months, Safran and Bharat Forge have successfully worked on a demonstrator phase for initial trial production of cr itical forgings in a variety of materials, including titanium, nickel based and steel alloys, for aerospace. This success is the result of intensive engineering a nd manufacturing collaboration. Both companies will also seek to explore and address other opportunities in Indian aerospace for civil and military sectors.
