  Notes :

1 Accounting Standard 22 dealing with 'Accounting for Taxes on Income' of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has come into effect from 1st April, 2001. The tax provision including deferred tax for the current year ended on March 31, 2002 has been computed in accordance with the said standard and hence is not comparable with the previous year. In accordance with the said standard, accumulated net deferred tax liability as at the beginning of the year has been charged to opening balance of Profit and Loss Account.

2 Directors recommend a Dividend of Rs. 3.50 per Equity share ( 35 % ), subject to approval of shareholders.

3 Previous year figures are not comparable in view of the demerger of 'Investment and Windmills Division' with effect from 1st March, 2001. Previous year's figures are regrouped wherever necessary. 4 The above results have been taken on record by the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on May 18, 2002.
